Most of the microchip-producers use the three coding-digits as firm identification. In this manner microchips from ID-FIX use the coding 972 (in Austia distributed by PRO ZOON Pharma GmbH. and Alvetra u. Werfft AG), microchips from AEG the Coding 968 (in Austia distributed by Richter-Pharma AG), mikrochips from INDEXEL the coding 985 (in Austia distributed by Merial GmbH.) auf. Only microchips from DATAMARS put a country-code according to the ISO-Norm 1366 >> into the first three digits (in Austia distributed by Virbac).
For the numbers 1 to 899 are used by ISO-Norm 1366 as country-coding, only numbers higher than 900 can be used as company-coding.
Microchips with firm identification are to be recognized therefore easily by the fact that they begin with 9... !
On the other hand, microchips with the national identification 040… were delivered in Austria, 276… in Germany, 203… in the Czech Republic, 756… in Switzerland etc.
